Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) training
IPT is an evidence based psychotherapy developed for treating depression and now also validated as an effective treatment for Bulimia Nervosa. There is evidence of its effectiveness for depression in the elderly and adolescents. Trials for other psychiatric conditions are on-going.
We arrange occasional 2 day introductory training workshops. This is the way to find out more about IPT and is essential if you intend to pursue further training.
We also arrange occasional group supervision courses with Professor Fairburn in Oxford. Successful completion of the six study days fulfills the initial training requirement to practise IPT in the UK.
